About Us

Toys for Treatment is a subsidiary of the private counseling practice of Neumann/Vieregg Services, Inc. The mission of Neumann/Vieregg Services, Inc. is to facilitate the growth and well-being of children and families by providing professional mental health services in individual, family, and group settings.

The concept for Toys for Treatment grew from a need we had heard expressed over and over. As our agency worked with a number of area contracts, our therapists requested assistance in developing effective tools to use at the sites they visited. We had “built” so many playrooms and portable bags that we certainly had a system down. But we weren’t entirely satisfied with some of our “regular” items and at times others were difficult to find or were out of stock. Many times we ended up settling or paying way too much when we needed a new toy right away. We realized we needed a therapeutic toy personal shopper. And that is basically what we are for you—we did the research, the footwork, the comparison shopping (for price and quality), and the purchasing so you don’t have too.

But most importantly, we are therapists who above all love doing therapy. We started our private practice with a mission to meet the needs of those people who frequently fell through the cracks in the system. We wanted to serve them with dignity and respect in a warm, safe environment. The tools we offer through Toys for Treatment are the same ones we use with confidence everyday in our own offices.

Professionally, I enjoy the many opportunities and rewards my career provides. Therapy provides the unique honor of entering another’s private consciousness to assist clients in identifying their personal obstacles and finding their own solutions. All of this done in the often unspoken language of play is especially fun and exciting! As an educator and seminar facilitator, I value the stimulation of sharing information and being a conduit for the growth of our mental health field.

Personally, I find myself stretching for growth by testing my own limits. I’ve found many new skills from volunteering with school and community agencies. My husband and I can be found mountain biking, sky diving, scuba diving (my favorite), or snow boarding. My greatest growth, though, is usually lessons learned from my two elementary-aged daughters.

Bio
I currently live in a suburb of Waco with my husband, two daughters, dog and cat. I feel so lucky to have such a stimulating and exciting job where I learn so much every day. My clients never cease to amaze me with their strength and resilience. Besides working, I am also involved in the local PTA and volunteering in the community.

Just like everyone else, I experience pain, struggle, loss and sometimes sheer chaos, but strongly believe in a "grand plan" and that I will be given the answers when I am ready. This faith gives me both peace and an attitude of tenacity.

I cherish having extended family close by, my children’s laughter, sunshine, simplicity, a free moment to read a book or get a massage and time for being ridiculously silly. I dream of one day living in a little house by the sea.
